Now that our media and digital technology is such at an advanced level, we see now individuals are able to be a lot more creative and expressive on social networks. For many years we weren’t able to do much with our media technology because some of the things we have today didn’t exist, like websites that give us platform to be creative and express ourselves. YouTube is a great example of that. Before YouTube there wasn’t much of an outlet for people to go and share video of interesting things weather is music of video of things people share in common. Now that we have platform like YouTube and other website musicians can now spread their music through media, things have changed so much because this doesn’t only give people a platform to share their work we can now see visuals of the their music. Even though YouTube restricts users from using any of things on their site to be more creative because of the copyright law, it still poses as a great place to share ideas and get people thinking to be more creative in their product. A common way we see creativity from individuals is through remixing. Remixing is the process of taking old piece of text, images, sounds, and video and putting it together to make it new product (Kaios). I think mash- up is a form of remixing because it does just that, it takes parts of other song which are put together to form a new product my name for this would be called a Mash-mix. www.datpiff.com is place where there is a lot of creativity because it gives artist and musicians of all different genres a platform to be heard. The website offers updated music every day from major artist to independent artist who want to be heard. Listeners are also able to leave artist to leave comments of their thought to help artist keep improving with their creativity.
